BRU – Cargo IT Business Information Manager

Situation

Aviapartner Cargo uses in-house applications that need to be transitioned into a new cargo handling system. The implementation of that system will be the job holder’s first main project to manage.
In the long run, the Cargo IT Business Information Manager will manage the business’ IT infrastructure and software on a continuous basis and will ensure that Aviapartner has the best possible IT tools and solutions at hand at all times. The Cargo IT Business Information Manager will strongly collaborate with local management and HQ with view to improvement processes.
A major and crucial part of the Cargo business is its link with Customs. The Cargo IT Business Information Manager will have to understand all applicable Customs licenses (and their technical implications for the company’s systems) with view to keeping them up-to-date.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Manage the Cargo business-IT relationship; supporting but also challenging the business functions
  • Manage the Cargo IT demand. Working proactively with the business to capture/develop/shape ideas for projects or application/infrastructure changes
  • Manage the Cargo IT project/changes
    Act as IT project manager for projects and as IT delivery coordinator for application changes
  • Manage external IT application/consultancy providers who perform project/change delivery (analysis, development, testing, after go-live support & transition to operations)
  • Manage the key IT application software and project delivery vendors for the Cargo business
  • Manage tactical vendor relationship
  • Act as "super user" for a limited number of strategic group applications
You will report to the Managing Director Cargo

What should be your personal and professional background?

  • Extensive experience in an IT Business Information Management role
  • Business liaison mindset (approach IT & processes from a business perspective)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Cargo business
  • Knowledge of and experience with customs digitalization process
  • Technical knowledge of AS400
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Fluent command of Dutch, English and French is a prerequisite
